"Purse-onality"- Part 2

A pattern piece is fashioned...

                                                   ...for the purse bottom...

                                   ...and a piece of yarn-embellished nuno pre-felt...

                                                             ...is cut to size.

Strips and ovals are cut from the pre-felt pieces...

                                             ...placed on the resist surface...

...and covered with layers of wool roving.

                                                   The project is wetted out...

                                                 ...and flipped to side two...

...where the embellishments are wrapped tightly around the resist...

...as is the overhanging wool roving from side one.

An additional pre-felt oval is added...

...and the whole shebang is covered in layers of wool roving.

The nuno-felt purse bottom is applied to the resist...

...and covered with wool in an identical manner.

Additional layers of wool are added...

...to both sides of the purse...

...and an embellished nuno pre-felt pocket is applied...

                                                 ...over a foam pocket resist.

                                                 The rubbing and rolling begins...

...and I take special care to keep the bottom flange...

...from felting into the body of the bag.

Next time: the resist is removed...

...and the bag begins to take shape.
