Christmas Sewing (Pillowcases)- Part 2

When sewing seams...

...the fabric is usually oriented with its 'right sides' together.

                                                With French seams, however...

...they are first sewn with the 'wrong sides' together...

...and the seam is then trimmed...

...leaving a very small seam allowance...

...before the project is turned inside-out.

The same seams are then re-sewn...

...with the raw edges tucked inside!

The resulting seams are quite neat and 'fray-proof'!

                                           Next time: the finished pillowcases...

                                                     ...all fifteen of them!! :)

Rachel--and an odd number (strange, I know for pillowcases, which usually come in a set)...but I had just enough wonderful fabric in my stash for 'one' of some of the designs...so that's what I used.)

From time to time I have thought of making pillowcases. Your beauties are certainly inspiring me.

Sherry- Thanks, so much! Over the years I've made them by sewing the separate parts individually, but this method is easy and fun, once you figure it out!!
